Our Story
God chose Carlisle.
And a team answered the call.
In June 2023, a team led by Pastor and Pastor Mrs Akinde of RCCG Kingdom Life Assembly, Doncaster came to Carlisle to plant a new church. RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel held its first service at Greystone Community Centre — and something began.
Today, we gather every Sunday at Botcherby Community Centre, Victoria Road, CA1 2UE. People come from across Carlisle and beyond. Different languages, different stories, one family.
We exist to worship God, make disciples, and serve this city. We are still young. We are still growing. And we are just getting started.

Your Lead Pastors
Pastor Samuel & Pastor Mrs Christabel Afeni
Lead Pastors
Pastor Samuel and Pastor Mrs Christabel Afeni have been in full-time ministry since 2009. They have served across Africa and Europe — in city churches, in rural missions, in rooms with thousands, in rooms with hundreds, and in rooms with a handful.
They pioneered this church from the ground up — with obedience, prayer, and a willingness to go where God called.
They are the Lead Pastors of RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel. They are also parents to three children who carry the vision in their very names: Sampraise, Sampeace, and Samprecious.
Part of something bigger
The RCCG Vision
RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel is part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God — a movement present in over 190 nations. This is what drives everything we do.
- 1
To make heaven.
- 2
To take as many people as possible with us.
- 3
To have a member of RCCG in every family in all nations.
- 4
To accomplish the great commission.
- 5
To be the conscience of all governments, and take over all societal mountains.
- 6
We will pursue these objectives until every Nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Come and be part of the story.
